Badge of Honour Defined

Badge of honour can be defined as the injuries, hurts and pains, disappointments, denials and sacrifices that we believers encounter or bear for God, which may not be motivated by what we stand to gain but out of our faith in Him. In Heb. 11:13 & 39-40, our attentions were drawn to characters who paid their dues in serving God without really doing it for rewards but were rewarded at last.

KNOW GOD ENOUGH TO KNOW HE SHOULD INFLUENCE YOUR DECISIONS
(Prov. 21:16) It is important that you know the direction God is leading you to as failure to do it will lead to destruction. In Luke 15 above, we saw a young man who went after a vision outside God's will. He left with his own share of his father's estate to a distant and unknown destination. Having squandered his portions, he was stranded, exhausted and frustrated. He had nothing to live on and was afraid to return to his father. He took another wrong decision by hiring himself to a pig rearer and even at a stage desired to fill his stomach with foods meant for pigs.
