God is a jealous God who
does not want to share our purpose of existence which is to worship Him with
any other. Exodus 34:14
The reason why He allows us into crisis sometimes among other reasons is to enable us depend totally on Him.
He created us for a purpose which is for his his pleasure and it grieves Him when we stay out of the purpose. The only way he can get us back on track is by allowing crisis.

In Luke 14: 25-27 we are also
made to understand that when we become too comfortable and have too much
attention to ourselves, God will cut us down to sizes because He wants our
total dependence and attention on Him.
Secondly, God wants to bring
maturity to bare in our lives. James 1:2-8. God wants to develop character and
virtue through crisis in us. Crisis period is an incubation period when God
matures us. Isaiah 43:2.
Finally, God tests us to
promote us if we overcome. Deuteronomy 8:2.
