KNOW GOD ENOUGH TO KNOW HE SHOULD INFLUENCE YOUR DECISIONS
(Prov.
21:16) It is important that you know the direction God is leading you to as
failure to do it will lead to destruction. In Luke 15 above, we saw a young man
who went after a vision outside God's will. He left with his own share of his
father's estate to a distant and unknown destination. Having squandered his
portions, he was stranded, exhausted and frustrated. He had nothing to live on
and was afraid to return to his father. He took another wrong decision by
hiring himself to a pig rearer and even at a stage desired to fill his stomach
with foods meant for pigs.
The best way to reinvent
yourself is to sit down and take stock or review your journey so far at a point
in your life. In verse 17 of Luke 15, the bible says that the young man came to
his senses. That marked the beginning of a turning point in his life. At
this point also, he realized that he has a father and a home.
STEPS TO REINVENTING YOURSELF
1. Self
realization. In Luke 15:17, The Prodigal son came to his senses. Self
realization is the beginning self restoration. Ephesians 5:14-16 Note that no
matter how long you stay in a journey that is wrong, you will continue to be
wrong.
2. Change
your attitude. How many of my father's hired servants have food to spare, and
here I am starving to death Luke 15:17. Attitudinal change is key to self
reinvention. At that point when you realize your real self, then you are ready
for next level.
3. Repent
And Return. In Luke 15:18, we saw a changed mind set, a repented soul who is
ready to return to his root. At the juncture when you are ready to repent and
return to God, He will be ready to receive and restore you.
4. Mind
renewal. Rom. 12:1-3. Mind renewal is key to self reinvention. Our minds are
renewed only when we stay in God's presence regularly, studying and meditating
in His words, praising and worshiping Him, doing His works and being a living
witness to others.
SUMMERY
·
The turning point you are waiting for can not
locate you in a wrong direction.
·
Return to God and yield to Him and he will
reinvent you.
